  Much anticipated first visit - never again. Venue, act and ambience was great however the food was disgraceful. Salmon was overcooked by days and accompanied by inedible sweet potatoes fries that appeared 6x cooked! The chicken dish appeared to have been re-heated in a sandwich press given it was pressure flattened and scorched both sides. At $43.00 per dish it was obscene. Sorry Birds - won't be back which is a shame because of what it could otherwise be.

  Great location, excellent jazz venue. Acoustics spot on, no blind spots, small enough to be connected, large enough to create the right atmosphere for a great night.

  The sound experience is second to none. Birds get a lot of international artists in. Seating in B reserve can get tight so I wouild recommend A reserve or Balcony Stool. Bar staff are very polite.

  We booked tickets to a show and upon checking with the venue on the day if we could bring our extremely docile 3 month old daughter we were told Babies are absolutely banned from the venue. When booking the tickets I saw at the top of their FAQ page that under age kids were allowed, so went ahead with the booking. Apparently buried right at the bottom of the FAQ page it says no babies, after they stated under age was ok. Not happy at all, not going to go back to this stupid, over priced snob hole.

  Five stars for the quick service and fantastic musicians that Birds are bringing to Melbourne. I think the two shows per night format is very smart allowing an early show which finishes in time for trains and a supper show for those wanting to go out later.... Venue looks the part of a classic Jazz club, some seats may have poor views of the stage though, so best to pre book and be early. Have not yet tried the food
