I had a excellent experience with Consulate General of India Melbourne. I applied for my police clearance which was not possible to get it without Vice Consular's help. I would like to thanks to Mrs Vimlesh Sharma for sorting out my problem. I am very thankful to them and really appreciate their great efforts.

Their checklist does not mention anything regarding pixels of picture while uploading the document.

THEY LOST MY PASSPORT! If this has happened to anyone else reply on this post because I am very suspicious about this office. They are hopeless here! constantly playing the blame game with Australia Post and lying to me and always redirecting my phone calls instead of admitting they screwed up!! AND LOST MY PASSPORT!!!!. this place is a joke!

They should rather take biometric pictures in their center.

The whole process is one where you have to be a Rhodes Scholar to understand and comprehend what the government requires.

These people here are incompetent at doing there own job!!! Poor communication, systems and service! I highly doubt I would ever use this service again and judging by the reviews on here I am not the only one. This office is doing a terrible disservice to India and hopeful travelers. I am very disappointed and can not wait to finally be done talking with this useless office.

Always closed. Doesn't matter what time do you call them they always have their answering machine on saying..We are closed for morning tea. We are closed for lunch. And then if you call them after their preferred lunch time ...again machine says...We are closed now. Really...please do some work and help people who needs you. Stop being lazy.

Firstly I called Consulate then they said my inquiry would take two business days. And it wasn't until I became angry that something was actually done! They said it was Aus posts fault even though records show that they have never received a physical article from the Consulate. I then call back the consulate who said it's another two business days wait as they launch an inquiry with Aus Post. Waited 2 days and I call Aus post myself who tell me that they closed the inquiry on the same day it was reported as it was a priority being my passport and visa and confirm that it is indeed the Consulates fault losing my passport! I call the Consulate who then say they are still waiting to hear from Aus post which is a complete lie!! It wasn't until I said I was marching into their office wanting answer and someone to take responsibility and stop screwing me around that they finally admitted they were at fault. Leaving me to have to apply for a priority replacement passport and another visa with fees totally over $500!

The government should make the application process user friendly, hassle free & easy.
